Aleksandr Grigoryev (USA)

Before coming to Washington ProFile in 2001, Aleksandr worked as a fellow at the International Center in Washington, DC. Aleksandr received his bachelor's degree in journalism from St. Petersburg State University in Russia. He also studied at Leipzig University in Germany and Kalmar University in Sweden. For nearly seven years, he worked as a political and economic analyst at the largest business newspaper in northwest Russia, Delovoy Peterburg, where he won several professional awards. He is the author of "Russian Media" a chapter in the book International Communications: A Media Literacy Approach (2004). Aleksandr is a commentator on Russian and Eurasian affairs for television and radio stations around the world and has been an invited speaker at various events on the matters of the former USSR.
