Alexander Konovalov(Russia)

Dr. Konovalov is a Professor of Moscow State Institute (University) of International relations and President of the Institute for Strategic Assessments - a non-governmental analytical expert organization. He is a member of Expert Council working for Committee on Foreign Relations of Council of Federation - the upper chamber of the Russian Federal Assembly.

As an expert in the military-political field Dr. Konovalov testified twice before two Committees of the US Congress - Armed Services Committee (1989), and Committee on International Relations (1990).

Visiting lecturer at Columbia University (New York), Jan.-May 1991. Lecturing at Princeton University, Brown University, University of Illinois, Naval War College, UCLA, Rand Corporation, University of Bundesvehr (Germany), etc. From 1990 till 1999 Dr. Konovalov taught regularly at NATO Defense College (Rome).
From 1995 till the year 2000 Dr.Konovalov was a Professor of George C.Marshall European Center for Security Studies, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

Dr. Konovalov is a co-author and co-editor of around twenty books and brochures published in Russia, United States, United Kingdom, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy. The recent publications are: “Russia and Europe. The Emerging Security Agenda”, SIPRI 1997, “Les relations russo-americaines: de 1991 a 2000”. In La Revue Internationale et Strategique. Dr. Konovalov is a political consultant of the First Channel of Russian TV. He comments regularly on Russian radio. BBC, CNN etc.
