One of the nation’s leading experts in contemporary Russian affairs, Gregory Guroff continues his distinguished career as a scholar, teacher, diplomat, and entrepreneur. Dr. Guroff received his Ph.D. in Russian Economic History from Princeton University, served on the faculty of Grinnell College and George Washington University, and retired from the U.S. Information Agency after a lengthy career as a Soviet affairs expert and Cultural Affairs Officer in the American Embassy in Moscow. As Coordinator of the President’s U.S.-Soviet Exchange Initiative within USIA, Dr. Guroff is widely credited with initiating and expanding private educational and cultural exchange programs with the Former Soviet Union. Dr. Guroff appears as a frequent commentator on Russian affairs on the CNN Network and is an advisor to a number of American and Russian public television networks. In addition to a wide variety of scholarly articles, his major publications include An Environment and Health Atlas of Russia (Project Director and Contributor), and Entrepreneurship in Imperial and Soviet Russia (Editor and Contributor). Dr. Guroff is currently President of the Foundation for International
Arts and Education, a non-profit organization created to help protect
and preserve the historical and cultural legacy of the former Soviet
Union through the presentation of major exhibitions, professional
practical training programs, and scholarly research projects. In addition,
Dr. Guroff is a Project Manager for MPI International, an international
trading company, and President of the Guroff Group, Inc., a consulting
firm focusing its efforts in Russia and Georgia. |
